4C in Southeast Asia

The 4C Association’s activities in Southeast Asia have been further increasing during 2009, after having successfully conducted a number of workshops, trainings as well as stakeholder meetings involving 4C Members, public authorities, private companies, producer representatives and NGOs. The 4C Association has formalized close cooperation with the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute (ICCRI) based on a Memorandum of Understanding, preparing the path towards joint activities such as training and information dissemination about sustainable practices for the benefit of the entire Indonesian coffee sector.

The fruitful cooperation with the Vietnamese coffee stakeholders, especially Vietnamese 4C Members and the Coffee Task Force of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), will be further intensified with the establishment of a new 4C Office in Vietnam late 2009 in order to intensify support to 4C members and deliver information and training activities in collaboration with public and private partners.
