4C verified producer groups

Within the 4C system, the verified producer groups that supply 4C Compliant Coffee are called "4C Units".

The 4C Unit must be a member of the 4C Association or alternatively belong to an existing 4C Member.

For instance, Cooperativa Ciudad Barrios (CAFECIBA) is a Salvadoran coffee cooperative which is member of the 4C Association in the producer membership category. At the same time, CAFECIBA is also a 4C Unit supplying its buyers with 4C Compliant Coffee after successfully undergoing 4C Verification.

Another variation is when existing members set up their own 4C Units. For example ECOM and Sucafina, 4C Trade Members,  have both set up their own 4C Units. ECOM has currently five 4C Units and Sucafina has three.
For more information on how to establish a 4C Unit and receive a license to sell 4C Compliant Coffee, read our Step by Step Guide.

There are currently 86 licensed 4C Units in 17 coffee producing countries. These Units have successfully passed 4C verification and obtained a license to sell their coffee as 4C Compliant Coffee.
